ARCO Beverage Group Preserves History in Vero Beach, FL

When you step into American Icon Brewery in Vero Beach, Florida, you can’t help but notice the backdrop of the bar – an enormous diesel engine.

Once home to the Vero Beach Diesel Power Plant, this 12,300 SF craft brewery is a unique piece of Florida history.

Built in 1926, the Vero Beach Diesel Power Plant was the city’s oldest municipal facility, earning it a place on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1999. Now adapted and reutilized as American Icon Brewery, this space is serving up craft brews in a one-of-a-kind setting.

Paying homage to its original industrial use, American Icon Brewery has a modern-industrial vibe. The inviting and social atmosphere incorporates the building’s rich history with exposed structural and mechanical elements including full-height masonry walls and an interplay of metal, wood and glass accents throughout.

Additionally, the original facility was expanded to include a 6,000 SF outdoor patio, draught cooler and 6,115 SF, two-story tasting room.

ARCO Beverage Group couldn’t be prouder to complete this one-of-a-kind project. Way to go ARCO, team!
